Job Overview
Altair is hiring a Software QA Engineer to join its Quality Center of Excellence (QA COE) team in Bangalore. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of Altair’s CAE simulation software by developing test cases, automating processes, and collaborating with development teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work independently on all aspects of Quality Assurance (QA).
- Perform QA testing for HyperMesh, HyperView, and HyperGraph.
- Develop and execute test cases, test scenarios, and automated scripts.
- Maintain and report test execution results using JIRA, Confluence, and XRay.
- Automate test cases using Python and other scripting languages.
- Validate product issues reported by QA teams, field engineers, or customers.
- Work with FEA solvers like Abaqus, Ansys, OptiStruct, Nastran, and Radioss.
- Collaborate across teams including Development, Product Management, Support, and DevOps.
- Ensure software quality and advocate for best testing practices.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience in scripting languages like Python.
- Exposure to FEA / CAE simulation software.
- Understanding of quality assurance methodologies.
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of customer workflows in Automotive, Aerospace, or Heavy Industry.
